Business Preparedness

As mentioned in previous blog entries, September is National Preparedness Month. Each year, Ready.gov recognizes this month to raise awareness and provide you with information on how to prepare for emergencies and disasters, especially if you’re a business owner. Here in Scottsdale, we are prone to heavy rainstorms during monsoon season which can lead to natural weather hazards such as flooding. According to ready.gov, businesses can also face other hazards such as health hazards, human caused hazards, and technology related hazards.
There are steps you need to take as a business to prepare your business and they are as follows:
- Identify your risk
- Develop a plan
- Take action
- Be recognized and inspire others
Ready.gov has helpful information on their website pertaining to different hazards and toolkits for preparing to deal with each of these situations.
SERVPRO of Scottsdale is also available to help prepare you during these situations with our SERVPRO Ready Plan. The Ready Plan consists of information pertaining to your business for what to do in the event of water and storm damage, fire and smoke damage cleanup, as well as biohazard and crime scene cleanups. It establishes a point of contact here at our SERVPRO of Scottsdale office and minimizes interruption to your business by having a plan of action set in place for what to do in situations regarding water and fire damage. You can find out more information on our Ready Plan here.
