Preparing An Emergency Kit
9/17/2021 (Permalink)
As we’ve stated in our blog, “National Preparedness Month 2021,” September is National Preparedness Month which is to raise awareness and prepare you for emergencies and disasters. SERVPRO of Scottsdale wanted to provide you with some information on how to prepare an emergency kit for serious weather situations in Scottsdale.
We’ve seen in previous weeks intense monsoon storms that brought heavy rains, high winds and dust storms. If you or your family find yourself in an emergency weather situation, it’s essential to have a basic emergency supply kit readily available for when you need it. Here’s are some items to include in your kit.
- (Be sure to have at least 1 gallon for every person in your household.)
- Non-perishable food items
- Flashlights
- Radio
- First aid kit
- Batteries
- Power banks to charge your phones
- Emergency whistle
- Garbage bags
- Moist towelettes for personal use
- Map
The items listed above are what is recommended but you can always add more to tailor to your own family’s personal needs.
