The National Safety Council is celebrating 25 years of providing information and focusing on preventing injury and deaths through safety measures for the workplace, home, and other areas of life. According to the National Safety Council, “more than 800,000 patients are hospitalized each year because of injuries due to a fall” (nsc.org). For something as simple as standing on a chair to change a lightbulb, it’s important to do what you can to minimize the risk of this situation by identifying any hazards to prevent an incident from occurring.
